Explores the Brain to Vehicle Technology From Nissan
The Future Is Now
In a not too distant future, many of us will have vehicles that drive themselves. And, while we may imagine something that disengages us completely from the driving experience, Nissan is working on advanced brain to vehicle technology, which it calls B2V, that will connect the driver to the autonomous driving experience.
Nissan Intelligent Mobility
It uses “signals from [the driver’s] brain to make the drive even more exciting and enjoyable,” said Nissan Executive Vice President Daniele Schillaci. “Through Nissan Intelligent Mobility, we are moving people to a better world by delivering more autonomy, more electrification, and more connectivity.”
Autonomous Driving Experience
One way that this system could be used is to make the autonomous driving experience more comfortable. We have all taken rides with other drivers who do not drive exactly like us and it can sometimes make us feel uncomfortable, like if they brake harder or take curves sharper than we do. If your autonomous car is making you feel that way, brain to vehicle technology could take your brain’s feedback to improve the vehicle’s driving method.
Nissan will showcase its brain to vehicle technology at the CES 2018 trade show in Las Vegas, which runs January 9th through the 12th. Here at South County Nissan in Gilroy, CA, we are excited to see what this technology can do for the future of mobility.
